Diagnostic Services at Our Hospital

Diagnostic Services offered by Corfu Veterinary Clinic

In-House Laboratory

At Corfu Veterinary Clinic, we utilize our in-house laboratory to screen and test for a variety of diseases and other conditions affecting your pet’s health and well-being. This technology allows us to perform complete blood counts, chemistry profiles, electrolyte panels, urinalyses, fecal exams and cytology evaluations.

While avoiding invasive and expensive procedures, we can gather important information about your pet's overall systemic health quickly and in-house. We have invested in our laboratory for these reasons and to minimize the time you need to wait for an accurate diagnosis and treatment plan. It would be difficult to make an accurate diagnosis or assessment of your pet's health without timely access to these precise test results.

Digital X-Rays

To provide you with the highest quality veterinary care for your pet, Corfu Veterinary Clinic has invested in a state-of-the-art digital radiograph, or X-ray, machine. There are many important advantages to digital X-rays:

  • We can view them immediately on a computer monitor
  • We can manipulate the clear, detailed images to get a better view
  • We can provide a faster and more accurate diagnosis
  • We can email them to specialists for second opinions when needed

Advanced diagnostic capabilities are an extremely important part of veterinary medicine, in part because we can't simply ask our patients what is wrong. Our investment in digital X-ray technology reflects our commitment to offer you and your pet the best, most comprehensive healthcare available.

Diagnostic Services offered by Corfu Veterinary Clinic

Ultrasound is a pain-free, totally non-invasive technique that uses high-frequency sound waves to produce a real-time image of your pet's internal organs. Often used in conjunction with radiographs, ultrasound provides a moving picture of what is happening inside your pet's body.

We utilize both routine and biopsy-guided ultrasound at Corfu Veterinary Clinic. Using the ultrasound image as a guide, surgical biopsies can be obtained without major surgery and your pet can often go home the same day. Ultrasound imaging can reveal cancer, heart disease, enlarged spleens, and many other conditions. Ultrasounds are typically not stressful for your pet and take anywhere from 30 to 60 minutes to perform.
